Accessibility

Planning that works the way you do

Targela follows the accessibility settings you already use on your phone or computer. There is nothing to install and nothing to switch on.

What you get on day one

Grouped by what you need, not by guideline number.

  • Seeing

    • Text and controls meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast in light and dark mode.
    • Ask your device for more contrast and text, borders and focus outlines get stronger.
    • Windows High Contrast keeps every control and focus outline visible.
    • Text grows with your browser and system size. On Android, up to the largest accessibility sizes.
  • Keyboard and touch

    • Every page starts with a link that skips straight to the main content.
    • After you navigate, focus moves to the new content, so you never tab through the menu again.
    • Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels on touch screens.
  • Motion and timing

    • Turn on reduced motion and the animations stop.
    • On Android, your screen reader tells you when a focus or break phase ends.
  • Screen readers

    • Every button, link and field has a name.
    • Custom controls say whether they are selected or expanded.
    • A full manual test with VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA is still in progress.

Make it yours

Settings that only add to your device

Under Settings → Accessibility you can choose larger text, reduced motion or more contrast. They never turn down what your device already asks for. On Android you can also switch off haptic feedback.

How we keep it this way

Machines check it on every change

Accessibility breaks quietly, usually in a colour change nobody tested. So it is checked automatically.

  1. Markup rules

Every page template is linted for missing labels, roles and names before it can be committed.

  2. Component tests

Shared buttons, pickers, dialogs and fields run axe-core on every change. A failure blocks the release.

  3. Android guideline tests

Flutter's tests check tap target size, labels and text contrast on the main screens.

  4. Page sweep

axe-core checks the main pages in light and dark mode on our staging environment.

What does not work yet

We have not finished a full manual test with screen readers, and pages run by Stripe and Google are outside our control. The statement lists everything we know about, and how to reach us.
